Masi Feudi Della Medusa Cavit Herdade do Esporão Gruppo Italiano Vini
Masi is a specialized producer of premium wines from the Venetian area. Their production strategy aims to emphasize the personality of each single product, while maintaining a recognisable Venetian style.

Masi wines are modern, attractive, well-balanced and easily identifiable; characteristics which have earned Masi recognition for having "revolutionized the art of wine-making in the Venetian region". This led Hugh Johnson to refer to Masi as "a touchstone for Verona wines".

The winery specializes in the production of Amarones and Reciotos, using the historic technique of "appassimento" (drying of the grapes), and has gained a worldwide reputation as the only one producing seven different types. Five of them are single vineyards (cru) which have been selected by Masi beginning from the fifties.

Masi rediscovered and refined the technique of double fermentation using semi-dried grapes, and markets successful wines such as Campofiorin, its special selection Brolo di Campofiorin, Valpolicella dell'Anniversario Serego Alighieri and Passo Doble, produced in Argentina.

Created to provide a full expression of the strong and decisive nature of its land of origin, their wines are based on a very scrupulous selection of indigenous and international vines, the latter all grown exclusively in their vineyards of Santa Margherita di Pula.

The low yields, the hand picking in small baskets, the painstaking selection of the bunches and the strict specifications for the ageing process transform their grapes into high quality 'Feudi della Medusa' wines.

Their wines are divided into three distinct product lines, that may do justice to the local wine-making tradition while exploiting to the full the natural properties of the land.

The “Indigenous Wines” offer the unmistakable character of the most intriguing indigenous grapes picked from highly selected vineyards growing in the most suited and renowned areas of Sardinia.

The “Antique Rare Vines” proudly pass on the inimitable flavours of precious grapes chosen and picked exclusively from old vineyards with rootstock of over forty years of age grown in the place of origin.

The 'The Wines of Myth', whose name in drawn from mythological figures, are made with grapes from their best vineyards. International blends, both elegant and complex in taste, with intense and delicate aromas and perfumes.

Cavit is a company deeply rooted in the region to which it belongs: Trentino. A small area in the north-east of Italy where the vine, olive tree and Mediterranean-type vegetation live side by side with spruces and larches of the Alpine flora. A land of ancient traditions and culture, where the presence of man, with his villages, castles and cultivated terraces blends in harmoniously with the majestic Alpine landscapes.

In Trentino the vine is one of the basic elements making up the landscape. Vine cultivation extends over an altitude band ranging from 70 to 700 metres and there are considerable variations in geography and climate even between areas that are very close. Soils with extremely varied compositions have enabled the different varieties to find their own particular habitat, in the same way as the climate – featuring great differences between day and night temperatures in the period leading up to grape harvesting – enabling the wines to express outstanding bouquets.

The image that best represents Cavit, a large co-operative composed of a large number of small wineries, is that of the vine that produces healthy grapes only if the roots and the other parts of the plant all perform their roles properly.

Created in 1950 to meet the needs of the winegrowers in the area to offer the very best quality and market their wines in a modern way, today Cavit represents over 4,500 winegrowers who are members of 11 cellars and 65% of the wine production in Trentino (around 7,000 ha).

The exceptional conditions of light and the hot sun of Alentejo, together with the humid Atlantic breezes blowing from Northwest, combined with the unique schistous and vulcanic nature of the soil constitute the origin for the outstanding character of the wines from “ESPORÃO” state.

Bought in 1973 by Finagara, the Esporão Estate totals 1800 hectares, including: 600 hectares of vines, olive trees, a 100 hectare reservoir, as well as archeological monuments relating the ownership of the property dating back to 1267. Its boundaries have remained unchanged since 1267 and the state Synmoh is represented by its medieval tower.

Herdade Do Esporão wine operations date from 1979. Located in the heart of Alentejo, 140 km South of Lisbon, the capacity of this modern winery is around 9 million litres. Herdade do Esporao launched his first wine in 1987, and constitutes in the most important high quality wine company of Alentejo.

Some of the wines produced by them are Esporão, Monte Velho, Vinha da Defesa, Alandra, Monocastas, Espumante, Licoroso and Late Harvest.

Twenty years ago, a group of Italian wineries joined forces under the name Gruppo Italiano Vini to compete more effectively abroad and offer better services. Today GIV represents 14 of the country's most renowned wine estates and in only 20 years has become the largest wine producer in Italy, twice the size of its nearest competitor. It produces more than 70 million bottles of wine per year. In 2005 consolidated revenues were 257 million euros, an increase of 9.5 percent over 2004.

The idea behind the venture was both simple and complex: to conserve the separate identities, brands, operational autonomy and balance sheets of the vineyards, while combining their forces for marketing, sales, administration and purchasing. In this way the vineyards could maximize the well-established Italian strengths of flexibility and creativity in their individual operations, while achieving economies of scale as a group – something that would be impossible for 14 wineries scattered up and down the peninsula.

Gruppo Italiano Vini owns vineyards and cellars in the most important wine-producing areas of Italy. Leading brands like Ca' Bianca, Nino Negri, Lamberti, Folonari, Santi, Tenute Galtarossa, Bolla, Conti Formentini, Melini, Fattoria Machiavelli, Bigi, Fontana Candida, Terre Degli Svevi, Castello Monaci and Tenuta Rapitalà come under its umbrella.
